Parent Coaching for LGBTQIA+

Do you seek support as a parent?

When our children transition, we transition.

Do you need someone to support you with your kids or adult kids gender issues? Who can you talk to? Where can you get the information that you need? When our children or adult children go through a big transition, it can really impact us as parents. I've had my own journey, and I'd like to offer you support and guidance.

I offer parent consultations specifically designed for parents of gender questioning or gender non-conforming children or adult children. I understand how isolating it can be. It can be perfectly natural to have a mixed bag of emotions. You may be on the verge of tears one day and beaming with pride the next day. It’s important that you know that you’re not alone on this journey.

What are the common topics?
  • Understanding you child’s gender identity
  • A parent's feelings of loss and grief
  • Ways to be affirming
  • Navigating school dynamics
  • Navigating extended family dynamics
  • Understanding the use of pronouns
  • Where to get community support
  • General support with your child’s gender journey

What do the consultations entail?

  • We would meet for a limited number of times, typically one to six one-hour meetings.
  • We will talk about your feelings and questions related to your child’s gender journey.
  • I will provide psychoeducation.
  • I will share resources such as support groups.
